题目 Propagation and its symmetry of reaction-diffusion systems

摘要: When the propagation phenomena of reaction-diffusion models is considered, we always face to two questions: Can the propagation happen in every direction? Which direction is the propagation the fastest in? In this talk, we will introduce some results on these two questions for 1-D Fisher-KPP type reaction-diffusion-advection equations (a work of L. and T. Zhou), 1-D bistable reaction-diffusion equations  (a work of W.Ding and T. Gillete) and a strongly competitive model with diffusion( a work of L. And W.Ding)

报告人简介: 梁兴,中国科学技术大学教授,博士生导师,于19982003年在中国科学技术大学分别获得学士和博士学位。2003.09-2003.11应澳大利亚院士E.N. Dancer教授的邀请访问悉尼大学,2006年至2008年在东京大学获得JSPS博士后职位从事博士后研究。梁兴教授研究领域为抛物方程动力学与传播现象,在Comm. Pure Appl.- Math.J. Math.Pures Appl.,- Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.J. Funct.Anal. Ann. Inst. H. Poincaré Non LinéaireSIAM J. Math. Anal, J.Differential EquationsNonlinearity等权威国际学术期刊发表论文多篇,其中2007年发表在CPAM的文章已被引用近300次。曾获中国数学会钟家庆数学奖,全国百篇优秀博士论文奖。

题目: Seasonal influence on age-structured invasive species with yearly generation

摘要: How do seasonal successions influence the propagation dynamics of an age-structured invasive species? We investigate this problem by considering the scenario that the offsprings are reproduced in spring and then reach maturation in fall within the same year. For this purpose, a reaction-diffusion system is proposed, with yearly periodic time delay and spatially nonlocal response caused by the periodic developmental process.  By appealing to the recently developed dynamical system theories, we obtain the invasion speed c* and its coincidence with the minimal speed of time periodic traveling waves. The characterizations of c* suggest that (i) time delay decreases the speed and its periodicity may further do so; (ii) the optimal time to slow down the invasion is the season without juveniles; (iii) the speed increases to infinity with the same order as the square root of the diffusion rate。

报告人简介:方健,哈尔滨工业大学数学学院教授、副院长。2005年于大连理工大学获学士学位后,推荐到哈尔滨工业大学攻读基础数学博士学位,20113月留校至今。20072010年,作为联合培养博士生在加拿大纽芬兰纪念大学学习,20112015年分别在加拿大约克大学和法国社会科学高等研究院做博士后研究研究方向为扩散系统的时空传播理论及应用,目前兴趣为非均匀环境下的传播问题,在JEMS, JFA, SIMA等期刊发表论文十余篇,被他引300余次。个人主页:http://homepage.hit.edu.cn/JianFang
